Online Safety

At Sabden Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that our pupils are safe when accessing the internet and that they are able to make informed choices around the content that they view.

We have identified a number of resources for parents/carers which may also be helpful to consider when looking to identify different ways to help keep your children safe whilst online:

Childnet: is a UK-based charity that aims to provide children, parents and professionals with advice around online safety and information to help make informed choices.

Internet Matters: provides practical advice for parents/carers around setting up appropriate parental controls on devices and information around the latest trends and insights to support children accessing the online world.

NSPCC: provides a number of age-appropriate guides for parents/carers to support children staying safe online.

UK Safer Internet Centre: aims to promote the safe and responsible use of technology for young people. There is a vast amount of information for parents/carers and professionals.

Should you have any concerns around what your child may be accessing or viewing online and are looking for support, please do not hesitate to contact school on 01282 771000 and ask to speak to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

Similarly, if you feel that your child may be subject to any form of online bullying or may have received any inappropriate material, please report your concerns to both a DSL and the Police (via 101).
