The pupil premium grant is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of pupils who receive, or have received in the past, free school meals. This money is designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better and have access to learning opportunities in order for them to perform better and close the gap between them and their peers.
