Dream Big Project

What is our 'Dream Big' Project?

Our 'Dream Big' Project is a school initiative designed to help our children explore future career ideas in a fun, positive, and age-appropriate way. The project encourages children to think about their interests, strengths, and ambitions while building confidence, curiosity, and resilience.

At this stage, the focus is not on making career choices, but on broadening horizons, challenging stereotypes, and helping children believe in their potential.

Our aim

Through the Dream Big Project, we aim to help every child:

  • Feel confident in their abilities
  • Believe their dreams matter
  • Understand that they have many possible futures
  • Develop the motivation to learn and grow

By working together with families and professionals, we can inspire children to look ahead with optimism and ambition.

We hope that by the end of this 2025-2026 academic year, each pupil will have had the opportunity to explore their chosen, future career path with a linked professional.

Why is 'Dream Big' important?

Children often begin forming ideas about their future at a young age. The Dream Big Project helps to:

  • Build self-belief and confidence
  • Encourage aspiration and ambition
  • Expose children to a wide range of careers
  • Develop important life skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving

By learning that there are many possible paths ahead, children are empowered to aim high and value their own abilities.

What will our pupils learn?

Through classroom activities and discussions with a variety of professionals, children will:

  • Learn about different jobs and careers from a variety of sectors
  • Explore how their interests and talents link to future possibilities
  • Understand that careers often involve learning, effort, and perseverance
  • Develop confidence in speaking about their ideas and ambitions
  • Learn that it is okay to change their minds as they grow

The project promotes a growth mindset, helping children understand that skills develop over time.
