Welcome to Class 3 – Year 5/6

Meet the Team

Class 3 is taught by Mrs Murray, supported by a brilliant team of specialist teachers:

• Mrs Black teaches RE and Spanish

• Mrs Scott and Coach Wignell lead our PE lessons

• Mrs Tomlinson delivers our weekly singing sessions

We are a mixed Year 5 and Year 6 class, working together as one learning community. We support one another, celebrate each other’s achievements and aim high in everything we do.

In Class 3, we believe in being kind, working hard, and never giving up. We encourage everyone to be curious learners, confident communicators, and respectful team members. Every child is valued and encouraged to be the best version of themselves.

Weekly Overview

• PE Days: Monday and Friday – please ensure your PE kit is in school, in a drawstring bag, for these days.

• Singing Lessons: Thursday with Mrs Tomlinson

• Spanish & RE: Weekly lessons with Mrs Black

Information for Parents

Please ensure that all bookbags, lunch bags, coats, jumpers and PE kits are clearly labelled with your child's name.

• Homework Expectations:

  • Weekly Spellings – tested each Tuesday

  • Daily Reading – reading books and library books are changed as needed. Please ensure you are keeping up with your reading and signing your child's reading record

  • Times Tables Rockstars – to build speed and accuracy

  • Doodle (Maths & English) – regular use at home encouraged to support new concepts and spellings.

  • Half termly creative homework- a homework grid is sent home each half term linked to our learning for you to explore
